Dental Implant

A dental implant is a restorative solution for missing teeth. It relies on a sub-structure implanted into the jaw-bone to support and retain the upper dental prosthesis.

It consists of two parts: the underlying implant fixture and the upper dental restoration.

The implant fixture, usually root-shaped and made of artificial materials such as metal or ceramics, is surgically placed into the maxillary or mandibular bone to achieve firm anchorage within the bone tissue. Special connecting components are then used to attach and support the upper dental restoration.

Dental implants deliver restorative results highly comparable to natural teeth in function, structure and appearance, and have become one of the preferred treatment options for a growing number of patients with missing teeth.
